| Welcome to the Traer Community Foundation’Äôs Website. Our History Our Board Members "There's No Place Like Home." Here in Historic Traer, we have a strong affection for "home" and many of us desire to give back to our wonderful community in some way. The Traer Community Foundation is a community based foundation that can receive a request or donation of any size and then can make grants to local tax-exempt community organizations to support various projects. Our purpose is to offer to prospective donors an effective and different way to invest in the future of the Traer area with a maximum of tax savings to the donors or to their estates. Please take a moment and read more about our charitable organization. Whether you are planning to donate or want to apply for grants, you will find what you are looking for on our Traer Community Foundation website. You may also contact us during our normal business hours at 319-478-2148. Our History: The Traer Community Foundation is a tax-exempt, charitable organization that was established on September, 24, 1990. The purpose of the Foundation is to receive and accept donations for educational, cultural, charitable or benevolent purposes. The Foundation then disburses the donations among local tax-exempt, community organizations to support various projects. Through the use of these donations, the quality of life in the Traer area is greatly improved. Because of the Foundation's 501(a) status and its orientation to the local Traer community, the obvious advantages of the Traer Community Foundation are many: - The contributions qualify as charitable donation by the donor - The administrative costs involved in the Foundation are minimal compared to many national charities - The donations stay in the local area to enhance the local community - The application procedure used to disburse funds ensures that the fund will go to projects with a high priority in the community - The gift can be made publicly or anonymously - You can designate how the gift can be spent Top of Page | Home Traer Community Foundation Board Members: The Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors which is made of up to 5 people from the Traer area.
