Conveniently located in historic downtown Traer, the recently restored library hosts more than just the New York Times bestsellers...books on tape, e-books, DVDs, current magazines, newspapers, puzzles, large-print books, books for sale, even specially shaped cake pans to loan!  The library's new automation systems allows patrons to view the on-line catalog, view their own account, renew books, or put items on hold from the comfort of their own homes.   From young to old, there are people attending regularly scheduled events at the library....story-time for youngsters, weight watchers meetings, needlework gatherings, annual summer programs, or coffee with the city council on Saturday morning.  For those other special gatherings, the library offers two large rooms on the lower floor.  The Kupka Cultural Center has a grand piano, speaker system projection screen, and an elevated stage area.  Seating 125 persons, it has been the site of concerts, programs, plays, workshops, brunches and presentations.  The Talen Community Room offers a smaller setting and has access to a kitchen.  Either room can be reserved by contacting the library.
